My name is Loryn and I am from the states. I won the Solar Blue contest. I get to spend an entire year on the Gold Coast and train and surf everyday! Ekkkk!! I'm so excited!! Solar Blue usually only pick the ones that have one their contest in Australia but I sent in a tape saying why I wanted to get in, what it would mean and a video showing my surfing skills. I know I'm not that good but I really want to get and see how much I can improve.

I took a deep breath and walked downstairs to the kitchen were Bec had called me to come and meet everyone. I was nervous. I was so nervous that I thought my legs were going to give out from beneath me. I help onto the railing tight just incase my legs decided to abandon me.

While I was in my room I emailed my family and my best friend Luke. I told my family that tue first day was good but I was already getting homesick but agency wrote my best friend Luke I told him everything. 
As I was typing my emails out I didn't notice that Jake had walked up to my door.
