The next evening, after they returned home from their jobs, Lydia and John listened to Pattie's new album. Afterwards, Lydia talked with Pattie. Pattie asked, "Have you listened to my new album yet?" Lydia said, "Yes, we just finished listening to it." Pattie asked, "How did you like it?" Lydia said, "It was really good. I think Foxy enjoyed it, too." Pattie said, "I'm glad to hear it." Just then, Lydia's cellphone rang. It was her father. She said, "I'll let you talk to John a minute. My father is calling." She went into her bedroom to talk privately. Her father explained, "Your grandmother...

It had been over two months since Alan died in jail. It was just after Christmas. Lydia and John were on their way back to Tennessee. They had been to Virginia for Christmas. John got to meet Lydia's family. John said to Lydia, "Thanks for advising me not to mention that I was raised Catholic. I really dodged a bullet with your family." Lydia smiled and said, "You're welcome. I figured my grandmother would try to save you if you did." He asked, "Why did your grandmother become so religious, Lydia?" She said, "I wish I knew. You never know which direction people with dementia will go. Some become...

Lydia woke up at the crack of dawn. She had a terrible nightmare about Alan getting out of jail and raping her. Not wanting to wake anyone, she quietly slipped out of the room. She got a Faygo soda from a soda machine. Faygo soda is found everywhere in Michigan, because Faygo is a Michigan brand. As Lydia sipped on the soda, Pattie came up to her. Pattie said, "There you are, Lydia. I was wondering where you were." Lydia gave a half smile. Pattie asked, "Are you okay?" Lydia said, "No, I'm not. I had a terrible nightmare." Pattie asked, "What happened in your nightmare?" She placed her hands...

Lydia and her friends got dinner and ended the evening with karaoke. They went to the hotel. After they unpacked their things, John called Lydia on her cellphone. She said, "I'm putting you on speaker so that you can talk to everyone." He said, "Okay." Lydia's friends said, "Hello, John." He said, "Hello, everyone." Lydia's friends introduced themselves. They talked about their adventure. John said, "You all were so noble to come to Pattie's rescue. Are you all right, Pattie?" She said, "I'm fine. I do hope Alan stays in jail. He is absolutely despicable and just sick." Lydia said, "I wish there was a way to get even with him." John said, "You don't have to. Karma will get him in the end." Catherine said, "John's right. There was a guy who hurt me and my friends. He ended up dying from alcohol poisoning." Lydia said, "I guess karma is real." After talking with John, Lydia and her friends called it a night and went to bed.

The cops allowed Lydia to speak with Alan. She asked him, "Why did you try to hurt my best friend?" He replied, "For revenge." She cried, "Revenge?! What did I ever do to you?!" He said, "You started dating someone else." She said, "So did you." He said, "I wasn't dating her. She was part of my plan." Lydia said, "Listen here! I know you have every right to be jealous, but you have no right to hurt anyone!" Pattie added, "Yeah! It's bad enough that you hurt Lydia, but then you tried to hurt me! I had nothing to do with Lydia's choice to date John! You and that girl are the most inconsiderate,...

Lydia had not used her vacation days. Her boss said, "Use them or lose them." She chose to use them. She took a trip to Michigan. Her friends agreed to meet her there. As they were eating at the food court at the mall, Pattie asked, "Where's John?" Lydia said, "Unlike me, he used his vacation days. Someone has to look after Foxy anyway." She showed her friends a picture of John and Foxy together. Catherine said, "Aw! John's so good with Foxy!" Rebecca said, "I think you asked the right person." Gavin said, "Yes. You can tell he's a dog lover." Marie said, "Definitely." Pattie said, "I think...

One day, Lydia and John were talking. Lydia said, "For the longest time, I've been afraid to love. When Alan gave up on me, it broke my heart. I didn't want to take the chance of getting hurt again." John said, "You don't have to be afraid. I won't give up on you." She said, "Really?" He said, "I mean it. Of course, I understand where you're coming from." She said, "You do?" He said, "I dated a girl in high school. She gave up on me, just like Alan gave up on you. I was afraid to love for a while, but I realized that I was missing out by being so afraid." When Lydia told her friends about it,...

Five years passed. The Beatles fan club had grown considerably. Pattie and all others currently contributing had numerous medals. Lydia was living in Tennessee, near Greeneville. She was a receptionist at a local veterinary clinic. Catherine, Marie, and Gavin were musicians living in Georgia. Pattie and Rebecca were also musicians. Rebecca was living in England, and Pattie visited Liverpool. One day, Lydia had a day off. She was relaxing in the yard with her new puppy, Foxy, a Gerberian Shepsky. She fell asleep under the Red Maple in her yard. She felt someone shaking her at the shoulders....

Lydia was feeling pretty good until her dog, Fluffer Nutter, passed away. She was going to the college for her final exam, and she and her mother found his lifeless body in the yard. He was lying on his stomach with his back paws tucked underneath. It was as if he was sleeping, but he was stiff. Lydia estimated that his time of death was around 4:00 in the morning. Despite this, she passed her exam with flying colors and graduated cum laude, which is one of the higher honors. Her friends had lots of hugs for her. Two months later, her grandfather passed away. He was eighty-two. While she was...

Lydia continued to live in denial that her relationship with Alan was over. In February, she began to rethink things. She decided the relationship wasn't going anywhere. She wanted to break up with him without hurting him, so she turned to a friend for advice. Lydia said, "Catherine, I'm thinking about breaking up with my boyfriend. We haven't seen each other since Valentine's Day last year, and we haven't spoken since at least the summer. I feel like the relationship isn't going anywhere, but we had some good times together." Catherine said, "Lydia, it doesn't make sense that you call this...

During Lydia's forth and final year of high school, she went to the career and technology center for the second and final year of Veterinary Assistant. She went to the high school for lunch, science, Government, and English. She missed having lunch with Alan. Still, she enjoyed the company of her friends. In October, Lydia was nominated Homecoming Queen. She did not make it to the final voting, so she did not have to go to the football game. When she talked with Alan on the phone, he asked, "Will you be at the game?" She said, "No, I didn't make it to the final voting." He said, "I'm sorry...

During Lydia's third year of high school, she went to the career and technology center after lunch. There, she took Veterinary Assistant. Alan went to the career and technology center in the morning. He went to the high school in the afternoon. The only time Lydia and Alan got to see each other was at lunch time. Sadly, during Christmas Break, Lydia lost her oldest dog, Popcorn. He was fifteen years old. When the school session resumed, Alan told Lydia, "I had a great Christmas." She said, "Did you?" He said, "I was being sarcastic." Alan wasn't very good at being sarcastic. Lydia said, "Well,...

During Lydia's second year of high school, she and Alan had lunch together. Alan went to the career and technology center after lunch where he took Criminal Justice. Lydia stayed at the high school. At one point, she thought about doubling up to graduate early so that she could graduate with her boyfriend. At the end of the year, she told Alan, "I decided not to double up." He asked, "Why not?" She said, "If I double up, I can't take Veterinary Assistant, and I really want to take that class. I'm also taking geometry, and that's going to be hard." He said, "That's true. Why make things harder...

Lydia and Alan talked a lot over the phone during the summer. They didn't necessarily talk every day, but when they did talk, it was at least two hours. During Lydia's first year of high school, she ended up having the first class of the day with Alan. The class was Computer Applications. The class was a joke. The teacher didn't really teach anything. The only reason he wasn't fired is he was the girls' basketball coach. Lydia had a saying for those situations: "Those who can't teach are coaches. Those who can't teach or coach become principals." Still, she enjoyed Alan's company. In December,...

Lydia never saw herself as a beauty queen. She would look at herself in the mirror, and she considered herself unattractive. Her low self-esteem and insecurities came from being bullied by her classmates. She didn't complain about being a social outcast. She was used to it. She had very few friends looking out for her until 8th grade. She had a wide circle of friends, but she was only close to a few. She was particularly close to Alan. Alan was a boy who was abandoned by his father for being born with birth defects. His mother raised him on her own. He was often bullied by his older brother....

Hello, everyone. BingoPB here, or Kayla, as most of you know me. I know you were expecting a poem. Don't worry. There will be plenty of poems in the future. I have been inspired to write a fan fiction based on my relationship with Aston, my former boyfriend, and my dreams about Paul. Of course, there will be differences, because the story will be based on those things. The characters will have different names. I could have talked about this in messages, but it's easier to address everyone at once here. I am not sure what the title will be. I would appreciate some suggestions in the comments below. You can also tell me your opinions on this idea. Also, feel free to tell me what name you would like for the character based on you. I will start working on it once I have a title.

I remember the good times we had.
More than that, I remember,
The inner scar you gave me.
You left me to blame myself.
But I'm not at fault.
In the five years we were together,
I was nothing but patient with you.
If you were done with me,
You could've just said so.
I believe I made a mistake,
When I said I'd be your girlfriend.
You were my best friend,
And we ruined it with romance,
All because we wanted to fit in.
How could we have been so ignorant?
I know we made peace.
I'm glad we're friends now,
But that will never erase the scar,
The inner scar only I can see.
Someday I'll love someone else,
And he will erase my scar.
Only then will it fade away.

I had a dream one night.
I was leaving work to go home.
It was unusually cold for October.
I slipped on a patch of ice,
And fell in the parking lot.
There was no one with me,
Except my puppy, Snapper.
"I think I've broken my leg,"
I said to my puppy.
He let out a couple of barks,
That said, "Come on, Kayla! Get up!"
I managed to get to my feet.
Snapper and I made it home.
I heard a knock on my door.
I looked through the peephole.
It was Paul. I let him in.
He noticed my limp, and he asked,
"Are you all right, my love?"
I said, "I hurt my leg. I'll be fine."
He insisted that I rest.
I said, "But Snapper needs to go out."
He said, "I'll take him out."
Afterwards, Paul got me everything I needed.
He helped me tremendously.
My leg healed quickly,
And all was well again.

You broke my heart two years ago,
By giving up on me.
You left me in melancholy, wondering,
"What did I do wrong?"
I lived in denial,
For over one year.
When reality hit me, I shrugged it off.
I pretended it wasn't a big deal,
But it was a very big deal.
I hurt myself by not letting me be sad.
I slipped into a depression.
It wasn't severe, but it worried Layla.
She spent months hoping I'd feel better.
I'll have you know I did get better.
It seemed inappropriate for you,
To show up at Papaw's funeral.
You deserved to be pierced by my sharp tongue!
I am glad to know we made peace, though.
I...
