Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two Review By Dark. Warning: spoilers from the movie given. You have been warned.
Rating-9/10
Certainly a really great movie. I’ll never forget it. It made me laugh and cry and applaud. The music behind it all fit well with the events going on. The actors were excellent throughout the movie (I was extra impressed by Alan Rickman, portraying Snape’s thunderous emotions going through him right at the end. It was odd to see Snape so defeated, but he did it well. Helena also did well as Bellatrix who was actually Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix. Hehe…I just wanted to say that.). The dialogue was enough to keep the flow going and had the significance that was needed in the movie. There was humor that certainly eased the tension of the dark movie. While the shortest filmed of the Harry Potter saga, the Deathly Hallows Part Two only a little bit disappointed me through sloppiness from rushing and skipping past a few things.
Of course, there is a reason I wasn’t entirely impressed with it. What I really despised was that the Prince’s Tale part (when Harry peered into the Pensive with Snape’s memories) was a rush. Everything Harry needed to know was shown, however. But throughout the Harry Potter saga, what I missed the most was that we never got to see Snape calling Lily a “Mudblood.” For some reason, I’ve wanted to see this, just to see the complication that brought their friendship to a full end. But since it was not needed for this movie or Harry, I guess they skipped that along.
They also missed a few other things: I’d like to see Hermione show the “Mudblood” cut from Bellatrix on her arm, that she didn’t care if she was called that. I liked when she did that, when she simply put aside the Mudblood thing; Colin Creevey never died. We didn’t get to see him at all, did we? I think he was there for a few quick moments, but I must’ve missed him. And we didn’t even get to hear about Lupin’s and Tonk’s kid until after they were dead! I especially missed the little part of Dumbledore’s past, like with Aberforth and Ariana, but, as the Prince’s Tale scene was not significan for Harry, I suppose this was the reason it was put aside as well. There are also several other things I missed, but why waste my time by putting that stuff here? :)
Quick summary: everything that was about the story focusing on Harry was brought out and mixed perfectly into a movie-transformed-from-a-book with little disappoint, and it made one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. If you haven’t seen it yet (first off, you’ve seen lots of spoilers…hey, I warned you!), I siriusly recommend it, even if any of us weren’t huge Harry Potter fans. And bring tissues if you are emotional; I needed plenty for it.
