Biggerstaff Family Question

I need help with a project guys and gals...

Okay, I need some help for a project, and all I need is your opinion. I need to know why you believe teachers should be prohibited from forcing us to do speeches and stuff in front of the class.

Thanks for helping :)

BTW, if you guys don't agree, please don't answer...I've already gotten a few fails from the same question at the Random spot :P

Well Zanhar pretty much said everything, but I think another point is that it WASTES TIME. I mean seriously. I've experienced lessons where no-one ends up giving a speech at all because everyone was like, "I DON'T WANNA *le cry*".

Plus, you only get marked on how good of a speaker you are, which is bullshit, coz some people are shy, and how are they gonna give their speech and get marked on it if they can't give the speech at all? Fail.

Um... some people have severe anxiety disorders, and forcing them to go through with something that stressful can induce extreme panic attacks (and medication doesn't always help), and as zanhar1 said, people can get extremely sick over anxiety this bad.

Also, I said this on someone's comment on the random spot, but I have a friend at school who blacks out whenever she has to speak in front of the class. When she sits back down, she can't remember anything she just said.

Well, alot of teachers only do it to help students get over stage fright but what their really doing is creating tremendous anxiety and increasing the amounts of panic attacks they were hoping to decrease.
