Being a Woman Question

Some help, please?

I'm a 17-year old girl. Yesterday morning, I found a lump below my right armpit. It didn't pain any, so I thought I would give it a few days time and in case it's still there I'd consult my doctor. However, this morning I was having a slight fever and my right arm hurts when I put my arm by the side and also when I tried lifting it high.

I've never had one of these before. It hurts some when I touch it. Does anyone know what this could be?

I would strongly recommend seeing a doctor. It wouldn't do any harm.

But I'm guessing you were looking for a different type of answer. Mind you that I have no formal medical education whatsoever, I just read a lot.

It could just be the edge breast tissue, some breasts do reach around to your sides, under your arms. It could also be a muscle. If you've done any lifting lately, it's possible that the muscle enlarged a bit.

Cancerous lumps USUALLY aren't painful to the touch.
If you're close to your period right now, the slight pain you're experiencing could just be natural PMS soreness.

But I'm not a doctor.
