I think it depends if you look at the teams in the NL West,look at the pitching they have (from Ian Kennedy,to Clayton Kershaw,Tim Lincecum,Mat Latos etc.)which they obviously have great pitching,but many of the teams have low scoring offenses at times,it could be the teams are not on their game,well the Diamondbacks are usually a great scoring offense,but the past few years their bullpen let them down,the Rockies have had injuries to quite many of their key players like CarGo and Tulo,Aaron Cook,hasn't had the season he wanted,Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw are doing amazing on the Dodgers,whose to say it wasn't an off year for the Dodgers this season and that they can come back next year and do what they usually do,The Giants who have been hot lately,weren't doing that well with offense for long portion of the second half,and the injuries to Newly Acquired Carlos Beltran,also Kung Fu Panda,Eli Whiteside,Brian Wilson,losing Jonathan Sanchez in the rotation,but when he was in there,he was inconsistent and pitchers can't pitch with confidence if they know their offense isn't going to produce *at the time,it could be many things,but the Rangers and Angels,are both great offensive and pitching teams,and as of late the Athletics' Offense has picked it up,The Mariners offense has been down for most of the season,which doesn't mean they didn't have a great run,in the beginning of the year,I think the AL West is slightly better.
