I think that depends on the player himself, well rookies are mostly always promising (especially high draft picks),but you never know if what they are capable of doing will translate to major league level, for some it takes longer than others,or if the player has the potential but because of his actions (ex:not running out ground ball, not running for certain balls),then that might be a problem,as for a veteran in his prime,I think it depends on the player, and the stadium their going to,but veterans are usually always good to have in the club house, because they usually help the younger players play in the ML level, because they've been there longer however, well veterans are usually productive during their prime, but still I think it depends on the stadium, what there mind set is,but if they aren't helping in their, they're going to help in the clubhouse some way,but like I've been saying I don't think it's the title or years of experience that can help the club,I think it's the mindset and what the player "brings to the table".

haha your long analyses... I'm speaking about a player already major league ready and the other not, so what would benefit the team: a player who can play for you for the time being & in the playoffs (if the team makes it) or a player that'll be a part of the team's future? Basically does your team need to build or not, or do they just need that one 'piece of the puzzle,' that they're missing..?

I see, well I still think that depends on what the team needs exactly,I mean having a veteran presence is good, but if you're just going to have them for a little less than a season (Depending on the player)..then I would stick with the rookie with potential, because they have a chance to be in your organization longer (depending on what they do and how they respond to the pressure of the Major Leagues and how they do statistically) but also I think signing a veteran in Free Agency in most likely better than trading (promising prospects for them, and seeing those prospects blossom not in his original teams system..but then again (the results might have been different if he wasn't traded,so yeah that's still pretty hard to figure,I think that depends whether you have more than one Promising player like KC Royals for example they have more than one great Young talent (like Eric Hosmer,Mike Moustakas and Jonny Giovatella..and Salvador Perez (If You want to count him, then I would want to build around at least three of those four instead of getting a veteran, but still I think it depends.
