In a roundabout way, but not overly similar, I thought that The Lion King had more similarities to Kimba The White Lion.

Yep, there are definitely a lot of little similarities. Bambi was my favourite Disney film before I'd seen The Lion King and I remember my mum and I identifying all the similarities between them when I was a kid!

At the start of both films, the animals gather to meet the newborn prince (or prince-to-be in Bambi's case). We see him being raised by a parent he is very close to, until one day his parent is killed. The prince grows up and falls in love with his childhood friend. He then battles it out with another who wants something (Ronno wants to be with Faline and Scar wants to be the king) and is victorious in the end. There is also a fire towards the end of both films. The films conclude where the main character has become king/prince and has also become a father.

Yeah, but the main difference is that Simba is better recognized in both ages(as a cub and adult lion) while Bambi is just mostly remembered as a fawn.

Sequel? What sequel? They didn’t do a sequel for Bambi just a midquel.
