One thing which I really like about the script you sent me is the fact that new technology is used (ex: smartphones) , comparing to other movies which are made today, but just seem to stay in the past. I am mainly talking about remakes of movies which have been made before, or sequels. This was one of the first things which caught my attention.
I think that, if we introduce more of the new technology and evens words together with references which would make people laugh is a good idea. Take the smartphone for example. I do not really know if there are any copyright infringements on using modern sayings or mentioning apps, or games that people use today, or have used in the past, in order to create an infusion of the not too technical setting which made Back to the future famous in the first place.

Together with this, mentioning few things such as, the name of a game when Cameron plays a version of the basketball game on his phone. We could say something about the NBA, or make him get angry because the team he was playing for failed in a game.
Somewhere around the 18-22th page, we can find the place where the Doc kicks the 2 boys out of his house because they found the book. Wouldn’t it be a bit more fun if a little fight came up between the 3 of them? Marty seems to have this impulsive personality which makes him seem like a person who won’t stop at nothing to get what he wants.
A short idea of what should happen would be that Doc, also gets angry when he finds that Marty keeps on insisting to keep the book, while he knows that it is not his.
This way, Doc could speak nicely at first, but then shout a bit as he sees that Marty is getting angrier because of the fact that he cannot keep a book which doesn’t even belong to him. A little break in the great relations the doc, Cameron and Marty have would seem something new for the Back to the Future series. I don’t want to make it a big one, but a little conflict here and there won’t do anything bad. In fact, it can keep audiences engaged in what’s next to follow, as Cameron and Marty are angry on Dc, and vice-versa even though they consider him a great friend and need his help.
It clearly shows the strong ideas that Marty has, also because of the fact that he chooses to break in Doc’s house in that night to get the book. Also, the importance of the book isn’t really shown off at first, so I believe that a bit more stress should be placed on it, in order to make a great introduction to the conflict which is later to follow.
I am now talking about the action taking place @ pages 27.

Also happy to see that the idea of using that VW truck has not entered the legacy vault. Like your friend said, it can bring a lot of memories for people who have watched the other movies.
Remembering Doc in the way the script does and putting him to action, even though he should be from another era will get the audiences engaged, so putting him in another dimension was a great idea from your part.
Just like in the first movies, I really like the fact that reality changes around and that from time to time, you are unsure whether you find yourself in the past, present or future, so this creates a great perspective for the people watching.

Maybe you can relate to some of the ideas I wrote above.
The ending seems just great. One last idea I had was to do something like they always to in the Marvel Movies. After the movies end, a few credits come up, and then a final part of the story which sparks up the interest of the people watching, making them say that the movie was simply amazing.
I am not really sure about what should be done, but an idea would be the following:

Doc Brown is seen sitting on a chair across the VW van which was thought to have been destroyed, after he went back to his car a bit earlier, when he was put face up to the many people around who seemed to ask for questions.
Doc:
Well, well, well… It seems like the world did learn something from me.

This replica is said as he used a weird kind of machine which still runs of cherry Slurpee and hair restoring shampoo. The machine looks a little off, but it still creates a nice infusion of the future and present, making a traditional looking dispositive which will make everyone smile.

As Doc says his final words on the movie, the theme Back to The future music that you’ve made and start playing, as the movie fades out, and the lights in the cinema brighten again.

This was a sum of ideas which could be put on the script. Apart from this, congratulations once again to your friend! Back to the Future represented some great movies, and making one today, after all this time will show how society has developed in many ways.
I hope you like them. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do in order to make them sound better. By the way, as a thank you gift for your orders, I can make a start on Weekend in Las Vegas for free! It can be my way of saying thanks, to such a great friend with awesome ideas like you!
