It is pretty sad, but the majority of the people nowadays seem to think that "punk" and "emo" are the same thing. "Punk" is basically a more hardcore, "tough person" attitude and those people usually wear mostly black which is typically passed off as gothic. "Emo" means hating life, being depressed and wanting to die, and usually cutting yourself, and Avril is DEFINITELY not that. Yes, a few years ago she went for the "punk" style and had a "punk" attitude, which really does not make her a poser if you actually think about it. Today however, she does NOT go for a "punk" style too much, but she sometimes mixes it a little with a girlie style. For those of you who are calling her a poser because she's a girlie girl now, please go get to know the old Avril.

She is not emo. She was mearly sad and lonely during the Under my Skin era. The Let go era was more punk and the best damn thing is more happy and girly. Her new album is supposed to be more like under my skin and let go.. and while I'm happy that she's going back to her old style I'm also not happy.. because when she was in her old style she was more unhappy and I don't want Avril to be unhappy!
