It was Christmas morning and everyone was opening their gifts and DW was so happy about seeing the last gift thinking it was Tina The Talking Tabby. A toy that she would not shut up about. She opened it and it was a Duck that could talk instead that could say 5000 things.

DW: Can it say meow?

Jane: Probably not.

DW looked sad.

Jane: Are you upset?

DW: No...........I WANTED TINA THE TALKING TABBY!!!!I WANTED TINA THE TALKING TABBY!!!! (She sobbing) SANTA HOW COULD YOU THIS IS THE WORSE CHRISTMAS EVER!!!!

D.W.: (after Arthur realizes that D.W. has accidentally broken his plane) If it could break the sound barrier, falling out of a window shouldn't be able to break it.
Arthur: (angrily) I told you not to touch it.
D.W.: You built it all wrong! Did you even read the directions?
(Arthur furiously gets on his feet and grits his teeth, but D.W. is too busy talking to be afraid.)
D.W.: It didn't fly for one second! It's not my fault if you made a plane that can't fly.
Arthur: (lividly) I told you... NOT TO TOUCH IT!!!!!!
(He punches D.W., and she hits the ground; D.W. wails in agony as she heads back inside.)...

I was actually really excited to recap this special. In fact, I mentioned it way back in April 2012 but I was holding off until I got a special reaction GIF and then I swore I already recapped this but I went through my archive to double check and I guess it never happened. Until now.

I should be studying for my midterms but fuck that, I just remembered how great this special is. I wish they’d show it more often.

Fred Rogers is visiting Mr. Ratburn's class and staying at Arthur's house. Arthur is afraid of telling anyone the latter because he doesn't want to be called a baby. It's not so bad when they find out.

When Francine makes fun of Fern, she draws a comic humiliating Francine, which everyone finds amusing. Other comics about Francine are drawn. During the school carnival, those are teasing Francine are convinced by Mrs. McGrady to dump green slime on Francine. As they prepare to do so, they realize how much they hurt Francine's feelings.
