    Crunch.
    The sound of glass breaking beneath his head jolts Merlin from his fitful slumber. Oh no! he thinks, scrambling into his bag.
    The last item Merlin put in his bag before they left, almost on a whim, was the phial of water from the Lake of Avalon, entrusted to him by the Fisher King. The phial that has just broken under the weight of his head.
    “No, no no…” Merlin mutters frantically, dumping the contents of his pack out onto the ground.
    He watches, amazed,...

As promised, Gwen wakes up. Arthur confesses what he's been up to. Just post 5x03.



    “Guinevere,” Arthur breathes when Guinevere’s eyes open. He had insisted that she be moved back to their chambers once the danger was over. He’s been keeping vigil in a rather uncomfortable chair beside their bed all night and well into the morning.
    “What happened?” she asks, coughing, sitting up some. The coughing combined with the slight hoarseness of her voice gives him a pang in his stomach.
    Arthur looks unbelievably contrite....
