I think they're all good protagonists but it seems that I will have to go with Lelouch :)

Lelouch all the way. Not just in an "in comparison to the others" light, but while he may be an anti-heroic protagonist, his intentions were in a heroic light and his final actions and the outcome should have made this clear. Lucy / Nyu / Kaede is a great character, in my opinion, but acts more in the light of a bad-guy. I still wouldn't mind if she won, though! I also find that these two's placement as the primary protagonists in their respective series is the most unique of the five.

I like Ed and Naruto's personalities and don't think that they are necessarily bad protagonists, but all I can really say about them, as protagonists, is that I've seen better.

I've never watched BE and can't judge Rin.

Tough choice since all of them are great Protagonists.

Personally, I think Lulu deserves it but I wouldn't be mad if any of the five won.

To b honest, I never cared about Edward. all-in-all, I found him to be a rather generic hero/protagonist (Don't hate me ^^;;)

I haven't seen much of Naruto and I haven't seen EL...

So, it was between Rin and Lelouch.
I do like Rin and he was a really cool protagonist but I have to agree with my sis. I also think that Lulu had the better character development of the four that I know here,
