Also everyone on the forum I'm on hate it, so its not just me and raikagebee who think this.
Million haters? Then, it still have BILLION lovers out there :p
@raikagebee; What wrong with have characters design similar with the previous work? It shows that these both mangas are Mashima. It's Mashima's style. And that's not bring shame at all. So, the both manga have similarity in design. Just like Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, and Rinne. The characters similarity are really noticeable, it shows that those mangas are Rumiko Takahasi's. But it's not mean that the plot and their personality are SAME with the previous one. And of course Fairy Tail is REALLY decent. It makes all people who reading/watching it laugh, touched, amazed, and it told many lessons of life.
I answer any poll I see when I'm online and I never said I didn't care about Fairy Tail, just that I hate it.
'Fairy Tail manga sold over 4.7 million in 2011' I can clearly see Billions of people love it to buy its manga ^^ Also do you know how many people live on this planet? its about 7 billion and I doubt more then 2 billion of our species have the money or the internet to view it.
I've seen mangaka do different character design's eg: Tenjho Tenge and Air Gear by Oh! Great look barely similar. I can bring an example on how a Rave character gets remade into a terrible version in Fairy Tail. Sieg to god damn Jellal. Sieg was badass hero and had a good character while Jellal I found boring and mediocre.
'But it's not mean that the plot and their personality are SAME with the previous one' does not mean the plot is good either.
'And of course Fairy Tail is REALLY decent. It makes all people who reading/watching it laugh, touched, amazed, and it told many lessons of life.' I'm up to date with this series, only reading since I need at least one terrible series in my collection. I have never, ever felt touched or amazed(in a good way), instead I feel sick, annoyed by the expected cliche's, annoyed when I had to read 2 failed timeskips one after another and irritated with their terrible personalities.
Excuse me..Siegrain and Jellal is different persons. And Mashima-sensei already said that Siegrain is totally has nothing to do with Jellal. Siegrain is Siegrain. Jellal is Jellal.
Remade? Geez. It's just the artwork which is similar! Not the plot nor the characters. You can't said Rave is remade into Fairy Tail. It's same with you can't said Ranma 1/2 is remade into Inuyasha then remade again into Rinne. You can't said that Akane is remade into Kagome and then into Sakura. They are different. They have their own personality. Fine if you hate Jellal. But you still can't say that Jellal is remade from Sieg.
You need one terrible series in your collection? How funny. If you hate the series, why don't you just quit reading that series? It's as simple as that, you know. It's the first time I know someone who hate a series yet keep reading it. What purpose you have there? In order to despite it? In order to tell all your friends to hate it? Or to feel sick? :p
I did not mean Siegrain and Jellal, I meant the better Sieg Hart from RAVE.

notice the similarities in their design, same mark on the right eye, same colour hair, hell Mystogan(Edolas Jellal before you try to contradict or correct me here) acted like Sieg Hart at times. Difference between re-using a character design and making similar, they usually don't like twins.
Jellal is my fav character from Fairy Tail so moot point.
I've asked myself that many times and like I said I want to have read one terrible series in my life, that means to the end. I know many people who watch a series they rank low down on their anime lists and hate them. I came in to this pick stating my opinion on a OPINION based question, your the one you disliked hearing someone elses view. My friends already know I hate it, repeating it to them would be a waste of typing.
Since I try to leave it out of my memory as much as possible I can't describe the plot for you but people have said its a worser version of One Piece, so if you don't like OP you won't like FT.
Oh dear, I absolutely despise One Piece, so thanks for steering me clear of Fairy Tail! But I guess I'll still watch at least an episode before I form opinions.
Everything was perfect the plot, action, characters, it was just perfect
@LostOblivion; Whatever. Fairy Tail will always be loved by millions out there. It's better for you to get outta here, haters. I don't want to wasting my time anymore to read your opinion :p
One more, you're really a funny haters.
@S_y_r_i_n_x; Agree! It's really perfect. Just ignore LostOblivion. We can have our own point of view like he said, right? And for us, Fairy Tail is perfect~ ^^
And you think I want to waste my time reading your opinion? No, your just my entertainment and so far I've had a few laughs, so kudos to you.
'Agree! It's really perfect.' I'm wondering if you even know the meaning of the word 'perfect', so here's a book definition of it: 'excellent or complete beyond practical or theoretical improvement' and guess what, if it was perfect it wouldn't have haters would it?
Either way, that wasn't what you said since you never once brung up the ft fanbase in your comment, you stated that I shouldn't insult it and that people find it awesome and should respect their opinions.
First of, some facts. I have never watched Fairy Tail. I write an anime review blog and consider myself reasonably good, and I everyone who has check it out has complimented me on it. Also I am the type of reviewer who prefers praising what he reviews, and I am fine with people going against recommendations (in fact, it makes me feel somewhat guilty when someone doesn't watch an anime based on my recomendation). There are some anime, however, that I will say, without any hesitation or remorse, are bad. I only do this, however, that I feel make a mockery of good writing. I also also watch a LOT of animes of a large variety of types.
now some things I have observed:
1. More popularity NEVER equals a better series. To be clear, I am not saying that popular series are bad, rather I am saying that they are better then less popular series.
2. I have seen shows absolutely TERRIBLE become very popular. If you don't believe me, you in America turn on your TV during primetime, or watch such reality tv hits such as Jersey Shores.
3. Why bad writing/shows become the most popular varies, but it seems to all boil down to this one fact. It has a massive advantage over good writing, range of audience. Good writing will naturally narrow the range of audience for something as it becomes more "nitch" and "specialized." With popular shows, however, the story is tailor made to appease the largest audience possible, at the expense of quality. Also, since popular shows are more interested in rating and quality, they can do stuff that will hurt the quality of the show as much as they want in order to increase viewership.
4. "If it is so bad, why do so many people LOVE it?" Because, for those people it draws in, it IS better than what they normally watch. I know this since my second anime was Bleach (which I watched 7 season of). Here was an anime that really drew and held my attention. And that first season was reasonably good (in fact, what caused me to quit the series was the frustration that the later series gave me).
5. "But I have watched other anime, and I still thought this anime was better." When I first watched Death Note, I taught Bleach was better. Now I think DN is much better than Bleach. When I first watched Darker than Black, I thought Soul Eater was better. Now DtB is on my faves list and SE is not. In fact, there have been two series (DtB and Baka & Test) that I didn't completely fall in love with until watching the second season.
Why is this? Well I think the reason is similar to why the first few episodes of an anime don't seem that great. You need to get accustomed to the writing and learn how to appreciate it and to truly realize all that it is. For example, little kids LOVE thier kids shows and often find stuff aimed at older audiences as boring.
6. I don't really care about the popularity of low quality shows. I am, however, extremely bothered when someone focuses on some lower quality work and misses out on all that the higher quality works have to offer.
7. Most of those who watch animes are of a younger age. As a result, one can't really expect much. Of course they are going to flock to more simpler, lower quality works that are aimed at them. And of course higher quality works are not going to grab thier attention since they are not yet mature enough to fully appreciate it.
Gahhh, more adults need to watch anime!
