Inuyasha has the better love story, bleach is lacking in that department. Although it does have suggestions of romantic feelings

My favorite love-story anime is probably Full moon wo Sagashite or Fushigi Yuugi.

If you want comedy and romance, try Ouran High School Host Club.

Ouran High School Host Club is good too! However, if you want a romantic comedy set in real life Japan with no magical elements and no fantasy/techno setting, I would suggest Maison Ikkoku or Honey & Clover. Both are awesome!

CCS is perfect!! It's got some really beautiful drawings, quite a bit of action, super sweetness, and the most kawaii love ever: Sakura and Syaoran!! It's also got a lot more love, including unrequited love (aww!!) It's also very funny!! It's fantasy, so there's lots of magic and stuff. It's my all time favorite!! Just be sure to watch the Japanese sub, NOT the dub. The dub cuts WAY too much out.

(Warning: if you are a homophobic person, meaning you hate bisexuality or gayness or lesbians, do not watch this anime.)

Bleach doesn't have much of a love story at all, so I wouldn't suggest that if looking for a good love story, but Bleach is my favourite anime/manga and I highly recommend it, but Ouran is a great anime to watch if you're looking for a bit of a love story, though it's not centred around love ^^

I must say that I think Fruits Basket is a good one to start with. It has a good love story between Yuki, Tohru and Kyo. Also, it's not too long, but not too short for people who's just starting anime.

This is one of the best anime I've watched, it makes me cry, it makes me laugh, the characters touch me, and as the story progress, I learn a lot more about treasuring the things I take for granted.

Another reason to start is that it's innocent. A lot of other stories has perverted scenes, or inappropriate implications. That's a big put off, but it depends on what your friend likes.

Another good series to start is Fullmetal Alchemist. It's a little longer than what I would like (if I were starting anime), but it's very heart moving and I love it just as much as I love Fruits Basket.

NOTE: My first anime was Fruits Basket, and I loved it. It dragged me into this crazy world, and I never once regretted it. (Except maybe the night before one of my assingments were due and I had procrastinated due to being too addicted to a series :P )
