I would like to know why they change the names in the first place ._. and as long as the name's are Not Tea,May or Gulzar..or any name used by 4Kids I will be fine!XD I don't understand how in Pokemon in Japanese the guys name was Oji-san (meaning Uncle/Older Person..I think) and the english version they give him the name Carlos..I don't see the connection,and I'm still trying to understand how to prounce the name Liza as LEE-ZA DX IT's like they give characters RANDOM names and it's so annoying >.>..but names like Jimmy Kudo,Richard Moore,Inspector McGuire I like..so I guess it all depends on the dubbing name and dubber for me!XD..Why couldn't they keep the name Anzu,Amy Birnbaum as her voice actress is worse!DX and no offense to anyone

All Sailor Moon fans in world know Tuxedo Mask as Mamoru Chiba,
Only Americans fans knows him as Darien Shields -.-

Japanese names piss me off I prefer things in my native English

In some anime's chara name plays an important role,
some creators exactly choose characters names,
which reflects his behavior or story
and dislike original names is like
something incomprehensible to me... O.o
So example: You like "Bleach",
but all charas names pissed you off? O.o

For me Original Japanese names are the best, because these names picks creators of animes/mangas *.*

Like Lord Death, the Dubbed Name, I prefer that name over the Japanese name. Otherwise, Aki Izayoi, the original Japanese name, I prefer that name over the Dubbed name.

Really, names are just that: names. They shouldn't be anything that people lose sleep over. What really matter are things like voice acting.

Also, what if the anime in question is based off an american franchise with american characters with american names that were changed in Japan?

For example, ever since Day 1, almost every version of Optimus Prime has always been called "Convoy" in Japan, even when the version didn't turn into a mack truck *coughOptimusPrimalcough*. It isn't until Transformers Animated that they started calling him by his original name.

Would you complain about their names being changed back to their original american names?
