Death Note is a great series with a beginning and a great
ending. Don't want to say too much because it has a lot of twist and turns along the way.

but wanna add in my opinions too~ My best friend's first anime was this, and if they don't mind weirdness and shinigamis that loves apples, then yup, this is a good one to start
