Both were great and in the end it's your choice but I think you should try Urusei Yatsura first.

they're both pretty zany and frustrating things always happen in both of them. it's just a matter of if you want aliens and mythological creatures in the anime you watch, or just really odd people.

I absolutely love Miss Takahashi's works! Both are amazing. I just found Urusei Yatsura to be more likable and interesting.

Also by Takahashi I reccommend,
*One Pound Gospel
*Mermaid Saga
*Ranma 1/2
