Is Masaomi Kidas hair originally black or dark brown?

So I keep seeing random gifs of masaomi having black hair when he was younger but I can't seem to find anything on it and I'm kind of confused. I can't remember if they actually say that he had an original color or anything.

Based on that it could be implied that brown is his natural hair color in the anime while it hasn't been explicitly confirmed or stated what his true natural hair color is in the manga / LNs.
