Anime Question

How come when it comes to old Anime people seem to know Fruits Basket the most? I like that Anime. It just bugs me that nobody seems to remember other old classic Anime other than Fruits Basket.

This is just a question don't anyone get mad at me please. I like fruits Basket by the way. And i ask some people if they know any Anime like Orphen Anime,King of bandits Jing, D.N.Angel,Yu Yu Hakusho and Shaman King. And people say sorry i don't know them Anime i know Fruits Basket. it gets annoying. What's more annoying is that Yu Yu Hakusho is from the creators of the popular Dragon ball series and nobody seems to remember this Anime only a few people do. I wanna know why is it that fruits Basket is and old Anime that people seem to remember the most over any other old classic Anime? Once again this is just a question not a hate post. And thanks for your help in advance everyone. :3

I wouldn't even say Fruits Basket is "old". I mean, it was made into anime 2002, I think.
I like Rurouni Kenshin, and I think that was sometime in the 90's.
But other than that, I don't really watch many "old anime". Some not well known anime like Blood Lad and Heart no Kuni no Alice, sure, but not many old ones.
....

Old.... It reminds me of Detective Conan episode 1,the time it was first aired as an anime in 1996. Every 1990's anime were 'dead' but Detective Conan.......it was still alive.... Yeah,it's still alive.... as lively as an angel.....

For your information,I don't know Fruits Basket.

Actually, I think series like Yu Yu Hakusho and D.N. Angel are more popular than Fruits Basket, but maybe that's because I'm more familiar with the shounen community.

I think it's because Fruits Basket had a manga series that ran on for quite some time (into the mid 2000s I believe) so a lot more people knew about it. This is what I believe, I don't know if this is true or not.
