These aren't my top 3, but they are amazing and completely worth the watch.

Tiger and Bunny
T&B is good for action and comedy fans, especially those who like a colorful cast and dark plot twists. It's the story of an older hero and a younger hero who are forced into being partners and have to fight the city's crime while discovering the underlying darkness within the city and their lives.

Monster
Monster is (in my opinion) the best psychological anime ever and is 72 episodes of questions and mysteries. It follows Dr. Tenma, the top surgeon of Germany who chooses to save the life of a little boy. That little boy grows up to be a serial killer and Tenma must find him and either talk him out of what he's doing or kill him before more lives are lost.

Gatchaman Crowds
Gatchaman Crowds I will never not recommend, even though it doesn't strike a chord with a lot of people. The characters are interesting, the plot changes a lot, and the underlying messages are fun yet deep. Hajime is a girl obsessed with the allegedly fake superheroes, the Gatchaman. When the leader of the Gatchaman finds her and turns her into one, she joins the heroes and learns how to protect the city from aliens called the MESS and a far larger threat who could end humanity.

Assassination Classroom
Noragami
Magi

Three of the anime series I could recommend watching for ANYONE.

not really my top 3 (except Assassination Classroom which is second after Durarara!!) but they are the kind of anime 99.97% people will enjoy watching and most probably fall in love with.

there's also Gintama, Hunter x Hunter, Bungo Stray Dogs, Your Lie in April, Gosick, K project, Soul Eater, Blue Exorcist, Mirai Nikki, Zetsuen no Tempest, Steins;Gate, Eden of the East, KnB, Haikyuu!!, Barakamon, Yamada-kun!, Shokugeki no Soma, Seven Deadly Sins, Death Parade, No Game No Life, Irregular at Magic HS, Gekkan Shoujo, Sakurasou, Kokoro Connect, AnoHana, Nagi no Asukara, Clannad, Ouran HSHC and a lot others coming to my mind if anyone needs more of them but those three 3 remain my top anime to be recommended.

I promise I named the most promising anime series. Though the ones mentioned later (except the first few) may not be liked by someone not interested in the central genre.

P.S. - feel free to inquire further.
