Yeah Code Geass is a little confusing since its hard to tell who's good and who's evil. Also Lelouch is more as a Anti-Hero. And Light is definitely a villain right to the end.

^ Agree. Light is evil while Lelouch is debatable on that. I personally don't think he's a villain though.
