Most of the characters from Attack on Titan are of races that aren't Japanese (in the anime, people who are Asian are very rare... if memory serves, much of Asia was wiped out.) I know Eren Jaeger isn't Asian (the races of the characters are pretty much up in the air; Mikasa is confirmed to be Asian, but other than that, many fans of the series have looked to the character's first and last names to try and pinpoint heritage.)
