The Magistrate from Mushibugyo's powers' play such an important role in safe-guarding Japan that it is critical that she be kept in a safe place at all times. Of course, that means she can never go out and experience the world.

After agreeing to work for the time-space witch Yuko for a reason I am not going into Watanuki constantly feels like he has no freedom since he is constantly working . Although later on as the series progresses he gets used to working for Yuko and actually begins to enjoy it , but that changes once something happens to Yuko and Watanuki is now put in charge of her store . Once again taking away his freedom since now he has to take over Yuko's job .
