What's up with this new eye patch fetish?

i dont know maybe cause it brings people's curiosity questions like "what do you think is under that eyepatch?" or something...makes people interested people that are really curious can maybe watch the whole anime just see that eye under that eyepatch...so maybe it makes the anime kinda popular so others do it too...or maybe it looks cool..."maybe the eye under that eyepatch has special powers?" or something like that...i think its mostly like this? (pic.) i think mostly cute shy girls have eyepatch

I used to wonder why so many anime characters have an eyepatch as well. I can't really explain why anime loves them so much, but I personally like eyepatches.
They just seem so cool and mysterious, and lots of people have a thing for characters who show one eye. xD

Well, there's this Ikkitousen girl (forget her name). Then there's Rei fro Evangelion, who some fans seem to love seeing in eyepatches and other bandages. So it must be something that's resurfacing.
