how/where do you make an AMV?

I've never made one but when I tried to figure out how a website said:

You need to download specific things, and In order to get the anime clips you need to take a DVD of the anime and burn the disc into your computer. You now have the clips. Then (I think) You go into ITunes and pick a song you would want to use.

If you have all of those things you can then do your own research and put your video in pieces and build it together ~

You can download the clips of your fav anime.
From which ever website.
Get the song you want. download.
You can you sony vegas that you can download for
free. ( Thats what most people on youtube use.I'm not about to get into that tho. )
Or you can use some other thing to add effects.
Or just use simple wmm.
Which you do have on your computer.
It's more difficult than it looks, but it depends.

There are quite a few programs you could download, but none for free (unless you're good at that kind of thing) so if you have windows, you should have a pre-installed program called windows movie maker. With that all you need to have is the downloaded videos (try googling where you can download them for free) and editing them to music in the program. If you don't have the song already, I would try to convert the song from a youtube video to mp3 (again, just google it.)

I've never made one but currently I'm trying to edit one from a friend to make it my own and the program I'm using is Windows Movie Maker not easy with this program (bit of a pain sometimes) and the program automatically came with my computer so I can't tell you where or how to get it.

But some people on You Tube say in the description what program they used for the making of their AMV.

I downloaded some episodes in mp4 format.
Then, I went into Windows Live Movie Maker and used a bunch of different effects and animations.
Movie Maker isnt the best program, but its a start.

well I've never made one but a free movie editor that's WAY better than Windows is called lightworks don't worry its free to! link and if you want to download movies from youtube into MP4 I suggest using a site called Keepvid which is also free link
