Anime Question

"Shounen" fail.

Okay, we all know that the Shounen demography was initially targeted to boys, but much like MTV, Cartoon Network, & Scifi Channel, even that has lost it's integrity.

Get an image from an episode or manga or even a manga or DVD cover where you look at it & say "This is for BOYS??"

Note: Making screencaps. You can either install this free thing called Gadwin Printscreen, or you can just hit the PrtScrn button, make a new image in a photo suite, paste the image, flaten it, crop it, & save it.

So according to this month's Gfantasy, Kuroshitsuji, a manga both Baka Manga & Wikipedia swears is shounen, comes with an inappropriately-sexy poster of lord Ciel Phantomhive taking a bath. I'm sure the guys will be all up ons for this freebie. link

If you can't think of anything, just post something from Hetalia. Believe it or not, that was targeted at adult men. Yes, go ahead & laugh, but it's true.

One Piece is good for male audiences.
Fist of the North Star is good for male audiences.
Dragon Ball Z is good for male audiences.
Yu-Gi-Oh is good for male audiences.
Gatchaman is... okay, maybe it's targeted more towards younger audiences, but it's still appealing to boys.
Beast King GoLion is good for male audiences.
Armored Fleet Dairugger XV is good for male audiences.

THIS shit (along with Hetalia) is the farthest you can get from being targeted towards males (there's also Fullmetal Alchemist, but unlike Naruto and Hetalia, that series is at least decent).

Naruto and FMA have a lot of fighting scenes, so of course it can attract boys.

According to wikipedia, both Fairy Tail and InuYasha are shounen. I kniw Fairy Tail is fairly popular with boys, but mostly a younger crowd. InuYasha on the other hand, I hear it's the starter anime for alot of girls, and it has far too much romance and that kind of stuff for me to ever view it as shounen. Plus I have yet to meet a male fan.

I know a lot of Male InuYasha fans. In my opinion I just see it as Shonen. The keind of Shonen that is definetly for boys. The way The demons are portrayd (Not the actual human one's but Naraku's little tiny demon things xD) are made to look like it's for boys. The way the voilence is portrayed as well make's it seem very Shonen. That's just my opinion though. You can agree or disagree if you feel so ~
