what's the saddest anime you've ever seen?

Ano hi mita hana no was really sad, i even cried in some episodes :'( but it's really awesome :)

This is a show where death is not some glorious thing, or something that randomly happens to random characters. This is a show where death happens to the characters you least want it to, where death is an empty thing.

It is a story of love and betrayal. Of happiness and despair.

The episode "Spiral of Sin" was extremely well done. Never have I seen the despair of a character so perfectly captured (I quite literally completely forgot that I was watching an anime and not rl), and I have never felt such empathy for a character before.

The pic is from a later episode, but is another great scene with the same character.

that's the only part I didn't really understand. I mean I could undertsand everything else, since Shuu has almost the exact same personality as me, but just not that part. Maybe I was sleepy at the time... XD
