Actually no. Gohan is the strongest non-fused character in DBZ. Remember that in DBZ, Goku could only go SSJ3 and Gohan was way beyond that.

1. He did not, it took all the energy of planet earth to win. 2. Super Buu Gotenks absorbed is stronger than kid buu because Gohan was stronger than Goku ssj 3 while in mystic form. We know this because Goku barely had an edge against fat buu while in SSJ 3, whereas Mystic Gohan was able to easily beat the much more powerful Super Buu.
