Is finding anime characters hot really that perverted?

To me finding a character to be Hot (an in stating the word Hot I'm assuming you mean in having a Crush on an anime character)is the same as having a crush on any hero or fantasy character rather it is from animation, a book, magazine or a live action film. The person you find that fits your fancy is a character even if the character isn't a real person, or is a real person it's still a character, there really isn't much of a difference. Like being crazy over Caption Jack Sparrow from Piraits of the Carrabian whose a hot character, played by Jonny Dep, or Jerrith from Labrinth, played by David Bowie. I know someone who is crazy over Jerith, but doesn't care at all about David Bowie. I know a 60 year old woman who has a crush on a character from the old western series Bonnaza, (and has since the show aired), she gets all giddy and once she gets started going on about how great a character he was in the show. She's on all the fan sights and has her computer loded up with images of him from the show, and she's just an orginary strait lace person. It's just what tickles your fancy. Personally I like this character, [see picture below]I have for years now, I just like his character and he's a pretty picture and I do like to look at pretty things. Its something of a hoby that I'm really into, just collecting things about him or reading fan fictions. It adds a little more flavor to life and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

As long as it is just a harmless crush, that it doesn't disrupt or distract you from real life and you acknoweldge that the character isn't real, its fine.

And on a more sexual related note, yes they are based off real people and are created from real interests and real desires, so its not perverted to think an animated character is hot, any more than it is to find a dressed up modle in a magazine to be Hot. What's the difference?

Hmmm.......in my opinion, it's okay because it's your own will if you want hot guys or not but i think it's really normal to be very fond to them it's not perverted or something, it's just your type and taste....and also one thing! the word "HOT" is not just about the body, it can also describe his face (for example he's handsome) or expressions....

I don't think perverted is the right word but some people think of it as weird. I personally I have my on crushes one of them being my dear Lucy<33 from Elfen Lied

Some anime girls are hotter which means their breasts are bigger and some anime girls are not hotter which means their chests are flat. At least, some anime guys are very attracted to which anime girls' chests are bigger or flatter.

no i dont think it is becuase the anime poeple are based of of real poeple (well they dont look that cartoonish) its really how the human thinks about it you know? if they think the "anime" person looks like a real human then its really not perverted.......like from my perspective i thnik minato(of on naruto) is hot becuas ehe looks like a really hot human guy.....and for exaple this pic it makes him look like hes human so he looks hot to me ....well my conculsion is it matters how you look at it.

Well anime girls are HOT bcs they just are... People who make anime are making female characters even less explicit then in manga bcs anime are airing on TV. So imagine if they made them from how the writer made them. *gets nosebleed*
Either way it is ok to feel hots for anime girl, that is normal for people who watch anime. There are lots of guys who make their girlfriend to wear all sorts of cosplay bcs of their fetish wishes (maids, schoolgirl uniform, kimono, nurse, or from some anime cosplay, and all). naaaw, finding an anime character hot is like complimenting the voice actors, animators, and/or writers for doing something right that you find a work of pen, paper and a creative mind appealing. I like several anime guys, especially the funny or complex ones.

I know it's just your opinion, but I don't think having a crush on an anime character is sad. The character may not be real, but that doesn't mean it can't turn you on.

And to answer your question, it depends on the way you look at it. In your case, it's not really perverted, but there are people who...can get really wild with their fantasies...

I hate it when people say this but it also strikes me as odd.
Why is it anime guys/girls and not animated guys/girls in general?
Why are animated girls like Betty Boop and Jessica rabbit swoon'd over but a sexy anime chick isn't? whats the difference?

I think that what this is all about really.
ALSO i find that people with 'wider' minds or more imaginative minds would like anime characters...its not about them 'not being real' but their personality that attracts people...or it could be that some seem be more exciting/appealing to people versus what we have in today's society...

Its all depending on how far you go with it. You have to remember that they aren't real.. I mean you can say you "crush" on a character but I mean your not actually crushing on them... If you are your taking it a tad too far. I can understand if you love the character and even have that "I wish they were real" thing going on but I've met some people that literally start fights and cry over if someone makes fun of their "anime" crush or something then they will sit there and say "He/she is my lover and not yours" ... Those types are just plain ridlious but a harmless crush on a character is fine in my opinion :D

NAAH!! Definitely not!! The only time you need to be worried is when you cross the line of your love, which is when you literally talk about them all the time and they distract you from the REAL world. I'm telling you now, I crossed the line once and I was in my own world , my dad even thought I had autism at the time. But anyway, there is no harm on having a crush on anime characters or thinking they are hot! Personally I think Eren Jeager and Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan are hot (plus I ship them sooo much :3)
