Well if you want humor and ninjas Naruto is a great anime,if you want Giant robots you could look no further than some Code Geass episodes as well the Gundam G (and many of the other Gundam series')..Lucky Star has a lot of randomness including Humor..schoolgirls..Well Baka To Test To Shokanjuu has "school girls"..well anyway hope I helped!^^ here's a picture of Himeji-chan from Baka to Test!:3

The World God Only Knows. It has no ninjas or giant robots, but it has tons of humor and schoolgirls.

Infinite Stratos has humor, giant robots and school girls. Same with Full Metal Panic. No ninjas though :)

Someone already suggested Gintama. No giant robots and school girls but plenty of humor, aliens, samurai and some ninjas.

Mew Mew Power is pretty good

Pretty Cure series is very cool to watch.

Ouran Highschool Host Club has some humor in it. Clannad has to do with school girls kinda ish. Nagima has to do woth school girls too.

Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji. Yes, this doesn't have much of you said you wanted in the original question, but anyone can get hooked on this. Even though it's historical fiction, it's really funny and really sad and you can really get into it.

If that's not your cup of tea, then try ~CLANNAD~. It's a really awesome supernatural show.
