Love mark????

I was watching a show ( maid sama ) and the guy kissed the girls back and sghe was in a bikini ready to go to a onsen and the guy said "dont go cuz everyone will see the kiss mark" so she didnt go cuz of that. How do u get a mark from a kiss????? Plz explain im sooo confused!!!!
