Hijikata has a course, heated, oppressive and grim personality. Okita is kind, gentle, loving and level-headed. And yet, these two have never once argued or fought. Okita tames the beast in Hijikata. And Hijikata protects Okita. And yes, both of these characters are male! And they are based off of real, Shinsengumi Edo period samurai! Their friendship was beautiful in Peacemaker. I wonder if it was true of real life?
