When/How did you start to become a fan of anime?

i stared to become an anime fan when i was 12 years old.Only one year before!!!my friend told me to download a picture of an anime character for her.i have seen the picture and i stared to saw this anime!I liked and this was the start!!!!

well 2be honest i dnt really have a story cause i almost watch anime since i was born seriously my mom always sat me in front of th tv so i dnt annoy,yeah....n someone should sue Walt Disney for making every girl believe she has a prince charming...seriously xD

My friend used to watch anime, & she told me about it & I liked it, so I continued watching...

Well it was when I was 14, And I saw anime on Tv, I was like, When did we get this in germany, well I wasnt Tv person then But now I love anime.

when i was in the 5th grade i think i was 10 or 11 i watched animax for the first time and i saw kilari revolution and i watched more and more so i discovered more anime series
(but i think i started watching when i was in the 2nd or 3rd grade and i took a break)

Well....I watched animes when I was very little, maybe 6-7,I watched One Piece, Inuyasha, Naruto, Kamikaze Kaitou jeanne, Pokemon, Digimon... I didn't even know that those where animes or what are animes I just liked them! Then when I become 9-10 I didn't watched them, they becomes boring and I was to busy, and then 1 year ago I started to watch Shugo Chara and so I become obsessed with animes and I watched so many of them!!

While channel surfing, I came across the last half of Cowboy Bebop: "Heavy Metal Queen". I liked it, but only watched the series intermittently, because I had made a commitment not to get into any new shows, because I had been hurt one too many times. Then I saw the final episode, & what happened at the end so shocked/fascinated me that I had to go back & catch all the episodes I'd missed, plus try & watch some other anime, too. Now here we are 10 years & 60+ shows later...

Late 1980s, I was 8. The manager of the local video rental got whatever anime he could get his hands on & put it in the International section, from G-rated Unico to R-rated Crying Freeman. (I don;t remember what he had over the time, he kept adding more stuff over the years). I was drawn to the style & the superior plot & character development (something kind of absent in anime of the past 12 years) but god those dubs were shit quality.

I started watching anime when I was 10. And the first anime I saw was Fruits Basket.
