If you are aiming for action, I really loved Yu Yu Hakusho. It had a really great ending... unlike so many animes that are never finished, postponed for years or their ends are crappy.

Fruits Basket is one of my favorites! Some of the episodes made me laugh so hard it echoed through my house and freaked my family out. If you havent watched it yet then I hope you go see it. I'm guessing you're a major Inuyasha fan so this anime might not fit your tastes. (no real action) If you are aiming for action, I really loved Yu Yu Hakusho.
