Why do you think that Pokémon is more popular than Digimon?

I think pokemon was out longer or on cartoon network im a fan of both too but Digimon did really took some stuff from pokemon

Well, for the anime, it might have been because Digimon never seems to keep the same main characters. At least pokemon has always had Ash. There are so many different series of digimon that have nothing to do with eachother. Only the first two seasons were connected to eachother.

On the other hand, all of those seasons have still been good. I haven't watched digimon for atleast a year (not including my VHS of 3 episodes from the first season), but that is partly because they have time gaps between where they get a new season. I still watch pokemon whenever it comes on tv, which is weekly where i am.

Just for the record, I don't think "who came first" should really be a problem here. Although Pokemon Red and Blue came out a year before digimon's first game,Digimon virtual pet, it has not been proven who actually had the idea first.

I personally think that it is because pokemon was easier to follow. When I first started watching digimon, i got lost easily. I love both animes but I always thought pokemon was easier to follow.

yes, in spain per example, a 15% - 20% knows about digimon, but the 120% saw pokemon or know about it

Okay if Digimon was a rip off of Pokemon than how come in Digimon Season 4 i think it was Digimon Frontier. That Anime showed humans getting power to transform into Digimon. Plus i hate it when a Pokemon fan wants to hate on Digimon and they say stuff like Digimon Adventure 01 and Digimon Adventure 02 is sucky so they think that applies for every Digimon season. What a Pokemon fan may not lnow is that Digimon after Digimon Adventure01 and 02. They changed the characters and the names. Plus the battles for Digimon are nothing similar to Pokemon. And it annoys me when a Pokemon fan wants to hate on Digimon and they use only Digimon Adventure 01 and 02. It feels like they Pokemon fans don't take the time enough to find out if Pokemon is like Digimon or not. And it has diffrent designs and Digimon battles that are nothing like Pokemon. And i wish for once when you and my family and me go into Bookmens or some other store they will have Digimon cards and video games in a section of there own being sold like they have a section of the store for Pokemon only. If they any store like say Bookmens had a section only for Digimon like they do Pokemon. Than Digimon would get more stuff sold and more money paied to them and the creators who make Digimon as well. Plus the Digimon Video game like Say Digimon World Re Digitize and Re Digitize Decode for PSP and Nintendo 3DS and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth they have RPG style battles and Anime cht scene clips that make thoses new Digimon Video games look like they can be an Anime of there own. Digimon video games change up the gameplay and storylines. Pokemon Video games no matter how much fun they are. Pokemon video games do not change the gameplay half the time. And have Anime clips anymore. Unless it was Pokemon Collicume And Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness for the Nintendo Game Cube. That bad Rpg style gameplay that i enjoyed a lot as a child. Digimon is stl going into Rpg style witj Anime styled game clips that Pokemon cannot fully keep up with. So all in all i love PoPokemon and Digimon both. But still Digimon is a little bit better than Pokemon. Now don't even get me started on this. Cause i was gonna annoy you all Pokemon and Digimon fans with an article saying why top 10 reasons why Digimon is nothing like Pokemon. But i am not gonna make an article for this. Cause i know you guys here are gonna argue with me.
