Animé Short

I am looking for an animé short that I saw on tv a few years ago.

It is about two teens a boy and a girl, The girl leaves earth in a robot I think and they continue to communicate with text messages but since she gets farther and farther away from earth the messages takes years to reach the destination.

I hope someone will recognize this very bad summary of it.
