Here I swim, round and round
Same old thing, round and round
From morning's dawn to evening's light
I swim in circles day and night
My keeper's coming. Something new?
No, it's not. Just the same tasteless food.
Friends all gone and my water's stale,
I wanted a paradise, instead I got a jail.
What did I do? What have I done?
This bowl on the counter top, it ain't no fun.

Here I stay, round and round
In constant misery, round and round
People came to take a look
Like I was just a picture from a book,
No one considered that I have a life
Which should be full of joy, not pain and strife.
I would be better off to be a dog or be a cat
Who would never be confined to a bowl and left like that.
Does anyone care? Will anyone set me free?
I just want to live in a pound with other fishes like me.

My time is ticking, round and round
The days are passing, round and round
Their interest is gone, but I am still here
I am small, frail and weak, my death is near
I want to leave, to say goodbye
I know that in Heaven, God will give me a wonderful life.
As I struggle to breath, I float to the top
Perhaps today, my worn-out heart will stop
Although I was fed, my keepers did not truly care for me
They say they love animals, but they never could see.
No one came to set me free
It's too late, now. I know I will die in this misery
