Alice in Wonderland (2010) Question

What fabric was used for the Hatters hat?

Does anyone know what fabric they used to make the hat?
I want to make one by myself, but my first try wasn't that great. So my next try have to be better and more original.

I'm asking cause I've seen some photos of some kind of museum and perhaps there was a description?
What fabric was used for the Hatters hat?

I wouldn't know the specifics of the actual material used, but I have a better quality picture that might help you out.
All I can say about it is that I'm guessing it's the same type of material used in a normal top hat. Almost a jean like thickness, but different texture.
Here's a great homemade video on making the Hatter's hat here: link (And now that the movie's out you can make it even MORE accurate)
And here's some more information on top hat material: link

For my hat I just used a regular top hat as the base and wrapped brown and green lace around it to give it the colour. Then I sewed in all of the stitiching by hand and made it look more authentic.
Best of luck!!
