Lebanese famous fashion designer Toni Jacob has revealed that the dress he designed for UAE singer Ahlam to wear in the final episode of the popular talent show ‘Arab Idol’ cost more than 1.3 million US dollars. He said that the dress was so expensive due to the fact that it contained a large number of real diamonds that were sewed into the sleeves and color of the dress.
Jacob said that Ahlam owns a Diamond set, which she wore along with the dress on the episode and costs over 6 million Emirati Dirhams equivalent to 2 million US dollars, and wanted a dress to be designed of the same color and style. Expensive fabric from Switzerland was used and Jacob had hand sewed the diamonds onto the dress in a very careful and precise manner.
The dress featured over 40 carat of pure diamonds in addition to rare types of Graff diamonds.
