Flinners/Righteous Flames = FPxFinn. They’re okay, but because this is the Canon Ship many of these get super defensive and may bash other ships and characters. These are a lot better behaved on Tumblr than they are on the Adventure Time Wiki, where a large amount of them are or used to be BLJs and haters of other ships.
Burning Low Jellies = My pet name for the most annoying of the Flinners, the kind who go “PB MUST have been jealous of Flame Princess in Burning Low because who wouldn’t be but she’s a bitch for it anyway!” These don’t consider the development of anything apart from the Flinnship, these are largely Ex-Fubblegummers because they’re the most rigorous CanonShippers and Casual Watchers.
Bubbliners/SugarlessGum = PBxMarcy. You know what this is. If I were to comment on the Bubbliners, most of them are pretty cool, though a few tend to find subtext in the most ridiculous of places (white IRY cake theory anyone?) and get overconfident in the canonicity of the ship. Many Bubbliners also seem to sexualise the ship, and that gets on my nerves because it alienates homosexuality as something automatically oversexual. I wonder what would happen to this faction if the ship was killed? D:
Finnceliners = PBxMarcy. Currently the nicest faction out of the bunch on Tumblr, but the most aggressive on Fanfiction.net from what I’ve seen. The reason the Tumblr faction is nice is because the ship died a long time ago, it’s receding into CrackShip status, but also Tumblr is full of analysts who can talk about how decent this ship actually is for the characters. When I see Finnceline on tumblr, it’s more in-character than any other ship art I see here.
Multishippers = ship multiple pairings. People like our buddies HVK and Tash and you of course. Definitely relaxed, these fit nicely with Crackshippers. May ship multiple people with one character to seal off any doubts the actual canon may bring (i.e Flambeline as an OT4).
Crackshippers = will ship any goddamn thing as long as it has a cool name or it would be funny. Friendliest of the bunch I think because crackshippers are generally ex-hardcore shippers, they’ve gotten into the show’s dynamic and relaxed, so they really aren’t serious about anything and no harsh shipping wars are exchanged.
And of course we have the analysts, the casual fans and the hardcore fans.
Of note are the Fionna and Cake diehards who prefer them to the originals, the Sillyness Nostalgiacs who want to take the show back to Season 1’s patterns, the AngstWhores who keep banging on about Simon and Marcy and drawing them crying, and the Cracktheorists (including the Betty Theorists and the Coma Theorists) who will make tons of shit up which will stir the fandom a little but of course any Analyst can go up to them and prove their bullshit.
Unless said cracktheorist is LGP in which case for fuck sake she’s probably right somehow.
