Cut-price deals from FlyDubai and Air Arabia will continue to enable the trippers to keep traveling expenditures under control.

With Dubai having turned up the only destination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) witnessing substantial upsurge in tourist arrival in 2011, hoteliers and travelling agents enthused on laying hands on influx of high-spirited individuals and families through link that primarily consist of special discounts and incentive points.

According to a latest report by Ernst & Young, the room occupancy and revenue per available room (RevPAR) in Dubai climbed four and 4.5 per cent respectively last year.

More than 8.2 million tourists landed in the region in 2011. The figure is just a precursor to positive trend in the tourism industry this year.

Modern constructions are being carried out in all seven emirates including Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. Total 21,238 hotel rooms across UAE are under construction, according to the STR Global, a leading info source of international hotel industry’s trends.

Experts said existing international oil prices encourage the government’s tourism initiatives.

It is said oil price of $100 per barrel has augured well for the oil-run economies of the gulf. Good oil income created the fiscal space needed to undertake the development projects.

Interestingly, Arabs rush to the foreign countries to spend their holidays since the region has warm weather while subzero temperature-hit foreigners flock in the region to enjoy outdoorsy.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), majority (58 per cent) of residents in Arab peninsula including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait enjoy holidays outside the region. The foreign visitors must outnumber the outflows from the peninsular population of 68 million.
